Pyramid Chatelaine

And this is an outside view of the chatelaine when pulled up with ribbon. I have done a wash of paint on the background of each triangle and then embroidered and added some small buttons. This will be the project we are working on over the next couple of weeks!

Inside View of Chatelaine

This is the inside of the Pyramid Chatelaine I have been stitching lately! A bit different but again something useful to keep your sewing bits and pieces in for that special project!

Scissor Keeper

I know this isn't a fantastic photo, but Carol also gifted me this beautiful scissor keeper - if you look very closely, the tiny tiny pieces of patchwork are amazing - gorgeous colours and so very tiny! Thankyou Carol!

Lovely Gift from Carol

One of the lovely ladies I have met through Stitching on the Lake in Canberra is Carol and at our last stitching day she kindly gave me this beautiful gift she bought back from Vietnam. Just gorgeous what those women can do with little suffolk puffs!

Hard at Work Painting

Here are some of the ladies painting their projects last week for Jenny's workshop. I think this is the first time I have missed Needlework due to illness (flu) ever since we started all those years ago and I have missed seeing all the ladies this week. Hopefully on the mend now!

Helen's First Quilt Ever!

Helen, one of my lovely Needlework ladies has just finished off her first ever quilt and she bought it to show us last week. Isn't it fabulous for a beginner quilter to come up with something so lovely. There will be no stopping her now!

Beautiful Neck Warmer

When you get older it is essential that you have a beautifully knitted neck warmer for those cool winter morning walks! My friend Lisa knitted me one for my birthday and gave me this card (which doesn't look like me) which says "You're how old??" Have a look at Lisa's site for her free patterns including this neck warmer! I'm sure it wouldn't take more than a night or two to knit and is very effective (and warm)! Thanks Lisa!

Beautiful fabrics

I was very spoilt for my recent birthday - a trip to a sunny tropical island, lots of charms for my Pandora bracelet, and many other lovely things including these beautiful fabrics from my friend Shirley! Her parcel had such a purple theme - is that what happens when you turn 50??

Meryl's Quilt

One of my Needlework ladies, Meryl, recently travelled to Japan on a quilting tour. All the ladies from the tour are having a reunion shortly and they were all asked to complete a challenge quilt about their holiday! Meryl has printed some beautiful photos onto fabric and used lovely autumn colours to complete her challenge! Isn't it fabulous?

Next Weeks Project

Here is the lovely little village square applique project we will be working on next week! It is one of the projects Sylvia and I taught at our "Stitching on the Lake Day" recently in Canberra. There is another "Stitching on the Lake" in Canberra in September - we better start getting those projects together sooner rather than later!

Birthday flight to Pentecost Island

We had an adventure for my birthday and flew in a 6 seater plane to Pentecost Island - saw the land diving (scary) natives on the Island, enjoyed lunch in the village and then flew to another smaller island, Epi Island, where we snorkelled and saw dugongs, lots of colourful and beautiful fish but no turtles!
