Harvest Festival, Farmers Wife and Stitching in the Hills coming up!!

Having a busy week at work and getting things organised also for "Stitching in the Hills" - our weekend retreat next weekend!    I am stitching the first month's block in my "Harvest Festival" quilt by Jenelle Kent .... I love the colours ....  there are four blocks the same like this ....

And this is the centre block .... I'm blanket stitching with applique rather than needleturn because I find it far more relaxing (and much easier to watch the Olympics) !!

When they are sewn together they will look kind of like this ....

For a long time I have procrastinated about "The Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt" .... but no more .... I bought this gorgeous book after seeing so many different versions of this quilt at various Quilt Shows!  One day .......

This is the back of the book with the whole quilt shown ... just love it .... and there are just not enough hours in the day !!!

And I am finishing off my kits for "Stitching in the Hills" .... putting the patterns together .... and generally getting a little bit excited (OK well maybe more than a little bit excited) for our first weekend retreat next weekend!   Imagine .... Friday night to Sunday afternoon .... stitching heaven!!  Hope all the ladies who are coming are excited and full of expectation for a fantastic weekend!!

  2. Farmers Wife is such a huge undertaking, but you have made the first step. Don't put off starting because I love watching everyone's interpretations. Your retreat sounds fantastic, have a great time.
