Tuesday Evening Christmas Party

We had a lovely night last night at our end of year Christmas Dinner with the Needlework ladies!   While the rain came down outside (and yes ... I am still praying for sunshine on Saturday for the wedding!!!)  we enjoyed a lovely meal and lots of chatter and laughter with the ladies .... Back left Robyn, Renate, Helen, Diana, Beth, Cheryl, Marg, Lynne, Chris, Maree, Chris, Shirley, Cheryl, Asta, Helen.  Front left Lesley, Tracy, Dale, Wendy, Lynn, Fiona .... some were absent but I have to say I have had another lovely year stitching with all you ladies and look forward to more fun times in 2013!!

My sewing room is full of little bags for the ladies for todays Wednesday Christmas lunch (yes .. I get to do it all again for lunch today!) .......

And Helen gave me these cute little socks which are very appropriate for me - "a stitching girl" - which she found whilst shopping in America recently!!   Thanks Helen!!

Aloha ..... I'm a very lucky girl!!!

I have something exciting to share .....  guess where this will be taking me at this time next week???

Can you believe that????    I won a trip to Hawaii for 5 nights with return airfares (yes ... I will have to come back at some stage) and I'm heading off after the wedding next week  to ..... Waikiki Beach ....

And I will love all the tropical flowers .....

And I might especially enjoy a "mai tai" or two ....

And I won because I bought a $30.00 shirt for work in Rockmans and won a competition they were holding in conjunction with New Idea magazine!!   I couldn't believe it when they rang me a couple of weeks ago and told me!!    So I have one happy husband who is coming with me and is quite happy for me to shop whenever I want to now!!!      OK .... enough dreaming for tonight .... I have to get back into wedding preparation mode!!

All stitching is special !!!   But here are some beautifully finished blocks which made up a year round calendar which has finally been finished by TRACY!!!!!   I forgot to take photos the other night and so Tracy has kindly emailed me some photos of her lovely project .... they are a little bit small but you get the general idea ....

Shirley W has finished off three lovely key rings using a variety of stitching techniques!  Just gorgeous!

And here is another beautifully finished sewing box .... these all look so different even though they are the same design !

And Shirley W has been stitching up a storm and has made two gorgeous Christmas table runners ... beautiful gifts !

Here is a close up of the stitching on one of Shirley's table runners !   I'm off to Canberra again tomorrow for another "Stitching on the Lake" day on Saturday !!   Such fun days ... looking forward to catching up with lots of stitching friends and having another fun day of good food, good friends and lots of laughter!!  Hope your weekend is very special too!!   We are also on the countdown now to the wedding ....  9 days to go!!!

Inspirational Stitching

Here are a couple of beautiful finishes which I uncovered at "Stitching on the Lake" last Saturday ....  this is Brenda's version of my embroidered sewing basket ....  she has added a little cat button and some fabrics to the top of the basket ...

The sides have been finished with a gorgeous green spotted fabric and embroidery ...

Inside the lid ...

Inside with pockets for all her sewing bits and pieces .... such a lovely finish Brenda !

And I found a cute mug bag ...

Sylvia's "My Favourite Things" Quilt, a design by Anni Downs, on display at the Hobbysew stand ... looks so lovely Sylvia !

And many of you will now know that Sylvia is addicted to Anni Downs designs and she has made this cute bag also ...

And this very cute little sewing tote ....  all gorgeous Sylvia and just so inspiring for those who are tackling all the projects in Anni's book!
