Christmas Stitching on the Lake Projects

It is now less than a week until our final stitching day for the year .... "Christmas Stitching on the Lake" in Canberra on Saturday 29 November 2014 !!    The kits are all ready, the bags are nearly packed and the projects are looking very "Christmassy" .... here are my three projects ....   we all love cross stitch for its simplicity and here is a cute little Christmas decoration worked in 221 red to hang on the Christmas tree ....

When I was thinking about a Christmas stocking, I decided to make one for Jed for his first Christmas ... as he was born into a surfing family, he needed to have a Santa with a surfboard ....  if a surfboard isn't your thing, then a Christmas tree can be appliquéd in its place .... the background fabric is provided for this project and the ladies will need to bring their favourite fabrics for appliqué and some fusible webbing ....

I have made another little decoration in canvas work for the Christmas tree .... the colours used are 221 red, 3011 green, 783 gold, 3781 brown and ecru or a light colour for the background.   The canvas will be provided in your kit but you will need a tapestry needle for stitching!

You will need your threads to complete this basket liner or mat - if you like to back your fabric whilst stitching, you will need some light interfacing like G700 (approx. 40cm square)

This foundation pieced small hanging will look great on your wall for Christmas .... bring your ruler, biro, sewing machine thread and small scraps of fabric to complete ...

This little felt reindeer is made by hand and all felt is included .... you will need to go in search of small twigs for his antlers when you have stitched him together !

Sylvia's  has also blogged about the projects on her blog, so pop on over for a look there!   We are both looking forward to catching up with all the ladies who are coming for our end of year get together and Christmas Stitching Day ....  see you there !!

I love all of your stitching and everything that you have made. What talent you have. I don't have nearly the talent that you do. I crochet, Quilt, counted cross stitch, stamped embroidery, and I do love to read.

    Thanks for a Beautiful Blog
    Happy Stitching
