Stitching on the Lake

Sylvia and I had a lovely day in Canberra yesterday with lots of ladies enjoying our first Stitching on the Lake Day for this year.  The second  day is on 11th April .... so we are lucky to get to do it all over again !!     Lots of fun and the ladies from Hobbysew Belconnen managed to tempt us yet again with lovely things to buy ... thank you Najelle and Terrie for bringing along your "shop" for us !!   We do have a great time organising these days so many ladies can enjoy a relaxing and stitch filled day !!

Our samples were all on display so ladies could make the choice of what they would like to stitch on the day !

The Hobbysew Belconnen stall looked great .... far too many tempting things to purchase here !!

It is always lovely to see samples made up and makes purchasing so much more tempting !!

Our orange gift bags brightened up the hall, as did the roses in the centre of each table ...

The food was absolutely delicious ... thank you so much to Lynne and her helper Sammi for going above and beyond to make this food filled day so special for all of us !

It is always inspiring to see finished projects from previous Stitching Days .... Celia had finished off her Christmas decoration from last year in her own choice of colours !

Roni had finished off a Christmas table mat which looked beautiful !

Roni also was extending a little wall hanging and making it into a cushion, and beautifully personalising it by adding her own stitchery to the centre .... great idea !

Two of the ladies had made their little village stitcheries into fantastic pencil cases with hexagons as well ... I  love these and will be adding this to my list of things to do .....

The back of one of them with hexagons ... too cute for words !

We did have a great day ... and all this came after a quick trip to Fiji for 5 days last week to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary ....

Destination .... Matamanoa Island ....

Mode of transport .... helicopter .... amazing scenic flight !

Tropical flowers .... stunning ...

Sunsets ..... spectacular !

Beach .... amazing .... especially when ours are the only footprints to the water in the morning !!

The spa .... to die for !!   Just beautiful !
