Natures Journey

I am happy to have finished off my "Natures Journey" blocks for April ... with just a couple of days to spare ....

These blocks are lots of fun to stitch and put together ....

I am using the appliqué method and blanket stitching them onto the backgrounds but did needle turn the pointed star ...  Bring on the May projects !!

After seeing this cute little pincushion on Chookyblue's blog, I decided I needed to add it to my collection .... so I ordered it from Shiralee Stitches and it has now arrived and is just begging to be started ....

But .... today is Monday and it is my day with Jed .... so not very much stitching will be completed here today .... but lots of fun will be had .... this is how he arrived at our house this morning ....  it was a chilly morning even though the sun was shining .... such a cute little zebra !!

And this is yesterday as he walked Davey along the beach ....  such fun to be had with this little chap !

Anzac Day 2015

We will remember them ..... Lest we forget ....

Our Anzac Day started with a beach walk in the sunshine with our little ray of sunshine Jed !

It was such a beautiful morning after the bad weather here this past week !!   We then headed off to our local Anzac Day service which was a wonderful example of a small village coming together to honour our Anzacs and serving men and women !

David took along his dad's medals and we took Jed to his first Anzac Day Service ....

He was fascinated with Dadeda's medals ....

Stunning wreaths and flowers of remembrance ....

And then arrived home to a beautiful buch of flowers by Lucy at the branch from Ash Tim and Jed .... Don't they know how much we love looking after him every so often .... Not a chore at all !!

Fresh Anzac biscuits just out of the oven ....

And now to tackle these April blocks for the Stitch A Long group ... Anni Downs "Natures Journey " quilt !!

A little bit of stitching ....

We flew home overnight from Perth, arriving in Sydney to sunshine and warmer weather than expected.  We have been watching the severe storms on the east coast of Australia and are thinking of all who have been affected.   I managed a little bit of stitching and finished off another of Rosalie Quinlans designs ....

I also bought some more Cottage Garden threads to add to my collection ....

And these are safely tucked away in my Gail Pan Cottage Garden Thread Holder which I love ....

It is always sad to say goodbye to our children who live far away isn't it?   But before we left we managed a swim here ....  Beautiful sunshine and warm water !!

And I helped Elliott make a cake for a friends birthday .... An avid Australian Rules football fan !  It was lots of fun !!!

And this one uses thongs and old toothbrushes !!

Enjoying the warm weather !

Great food everywhere !

Heading into Rockpool Perth to celebrate David's coming birthday and Elliott's birthday just gone .... Last night !!

Jed and Projects

Today is my "Jed" day for this week (he's asleep at the moment) and I have a coffee and a little bit of time to blog after running around after an active 13 month old little boy for the day !!    He is such a treasure and so much fun .... snippets from our day together so far ....

I have managed a bit of stitching over the Easter weekend .... putting together some hexagons for the back of a little bag ....

I used some of this yarn dye collection I bought from Hobbysew at Belconnen .... and some of my own!

I finished off one of Rosalie Quinlan's stitcheries .... I think I have about 60 to go in this set ...  not a quick project but more a long term project ...

I did a little shopping at our last Stitching on the Lake day in Canberra with the Hobbysew ladies .... I felt the need to have a Temora Traveller of my own ... I always love to stitch Helen Stubbings gorgeous patterns ...

This came as a kit and I love the fabrics and the gorgeous zippers too ...

And just a few little bits of fabric found their way home with me too ...

Now that Roseanne has received her gifts in the Tilda swap .... these are what I sent to her .... Leanne Beasley designs made with Tilda fabrics, a cute button tin and some Tilda buttons .... (thanks Roseanne for the use of your photo from your blog) ...

And this cute card .... I had a whole pack of these and have nearly used them up ... if anyone knows where I can get some more, let me know please !!
