Stitching on the Lake - Day 1

Just back home after a lovely day with lots of gorgeous ladies at "Stitching on the Lake" in Canberra.  Sylvia and I were joined by lots of eager stitchers today .... all stitching up a storm for Christmas!   Here is the hall before they all arrived ...

The projects all ready to tempt the stitchers ....

Sylvia and I waiting to greet everyone at the door !

A huge thank you to Najelle and Terrie from Hobbysew at Belconnen who bought the most beautiful display of their wares to tempt us all .... yes my bag is heavier coming home ....

In full swing ... stitching and shopping ....

We were joined by ladies from Melbourne and Brisbane also, together with the north coast of New South Wales ...  all very eager for a day of stitching and fun !

Lynne and Sammi catered for us again ... I'll keep the food photos till next weeks ladies have enjoyed the surprise ... here is Lynne's little Christmas decoration in the middle of the table ... she made this little Santa Bear with me many years ago !

Here is Judy and her family ... all enjoying a little bit of Christmas stitching ...

And Wendy, Carol, Sylvia, Rose, Sue and Kay all catching up !

Our dear friend Rose flew up from Melbourne just for the day ... always so much fun to catch up ... but never long enough !

A few finished Christmas Stars ....

We really did enjoy a wonderful day .... more photos to come ..... and we get to do it all over again for another group of ladies next Saturday !!!

Christmas Stitching on the Lake

This Saturday 31 October and next Saturday 7 November, Sylvia and I will be holding our "Christmas Stitching on the Lake" days in Canberra.  We are looking forward to sharing fun days of creativity with all who are attending!  The projects we will be working on are shown below -

This fun Christmas Stitching Pouch can be made up with your favourite fabrics and matching DMC threads ... I have used 347 red and 3012 green ... its so simple to stitch using just two colours if you wish !

"And Sew Happy Christmas" is a cross stitch hanging decoration, stitched on 16# aida and  again I have used DMC stranded cottons 347 and 3012 for this project.

Front and back of this cute Christmas Harlequin decoration worked on 18# mono canvas ... again some of my favourite Christmas colours - 347 red, 3012 green and cream 712 are used.

Sylvia's gorgeous Christmas cushion uses beautiful colours and fabrics !

These star decorations will be great fun to make !

And a very cute Santa red work bag also !    Have a look at Sylvia's blog here for the colours she has used ....  looking forward to seeing you on Saturday !!

Needlework Ladies

I have been busy stitching up a storm for the "Stitching on the Lake" days in Canberra on the 31st October and 7th November ....  if you want to come and join us there are still some spots available ... just email me!    So .... although I don't have stitching to share with you (because its a secret at the moment) I can share some of the lovely work my Needlework ladies have completed this past week ...

This is Gwen's version of the cushion from the "Stitching in the Hills" Retreat ....

And Shirley gifted her kit for the cushion to Joyce and Joyce has already made it up into this beautiful version too ....

Chris has made a very cute little cot quilt for a little someone special ....

I love the appliqué bears ....

Shirley F decided to make her felt appliqué bag into a sewing pouch and she put it onto blue felt which looks great also !

Joanne has stitched together this gorgeous table runner using a variety of stitcheries and hexagon shapes ....

And there is lots of progress on the Embroidered Garden Bags which some of the ladies are putting together ....

They all look very different and will be beautiful when finished !

And of course its Monday again .... so for me that's a Jed day ..... and we are having fun (but he is asleep now which is why I can do some work on the computer!)  Here he is surfing on the weekend on his dad's surfboard ..... so cute !

And playing with his toys this morning ....

And it is now less than 8 weeks until Chelsea and Kye get married .... so there is much excitement in our house at present as we are in organisational mode for that ....

And to top of their year .... they moved into their newly built house in Sydney on the weekend ... celebrated with take away pizza (and no furniture) and are now very happily unpacking and finding a home for everything !!

A Little Bit of Stitching

I haven't done very much whilst I have been laid low with this virus ... but I have managed some time in the sunshine this long weekend and have finished off a little project I started ....  Sylvia bought me back a cute little English cottage kit from the UK and I thought that was about all I could manage at the moment ....

Stitching it was fun ....

And then when it was ready to be put together it became a little bit fiddly ....

And as you can see at the top it is now attached to some of my favourite embroidery scissors !

And I know this has come out a bit small .... but this cute little boy has had lots of fun learning to surf with his dad (a very keen surfer) over the weekend ....
