"Christmas in July" Projects

Sylvia and I are looking forward to our upcoming "Christmas in July" Stitching on the Lake Days in Canberra on Saturday 23 July and Saturday 30 July 2016!   Will you be joining us ?    I know we are in for some very tempting treats from Lynne in the kitchen, the ladies from Hobbysew Belconnen will be joining us and there will be six wonderful Christmas projects for you to stitch for Christmas !   With a little over 5 months until Christmas, that will give you lots of time to have your Christmas stitching completed !

This canvas work decoration uses a few different stitches and a little bit of gold thread to highlight your Christmas Star .... the colour I have used are green (936), red (3777), gold (783) and ecru.

The back of the canvas work is worked in the same colours with one strand of gold metallic thread to highlight.    Fibrefill stuffing and canvas is included.   You will need a tapestry needle for stitching.

It's always fun to create a Christmas Cross Stitch ... this time it has been made into a useful scissor holder for that very special sewing friend .... "Sew Hope Peace Create Believe" will have you wishing for more creative time this Christmas season !   The colours used are green (936), red (3777) and gold (783) .    Aida fabric and fibrefill is provided ... you will need some Christmas fabric to finish, a decorative button, a small piece of lace or trim and a ribbon or thread for hanging !  You will need a small tapestry needle for stitching.

This Christmas Mandala Pouch is worked on homespun again using Christmas colours of green (936), red (3777), gold (783) and ecru.    This would be a wonderful pouch for sewing friend, or for yourself for your little projects, or alternatively could be made into a decoration or a cushion if you wish.   Homespun fabric is provided and you will need a fat quarter of Christmas fabric to finish, with a fat quarter for lining, together with a 10" zipper and some lightweight pellon to give body to your project.  You will need a crewel embroidery needle for stitching.

This little felt house is all hand stitched using felt.  Your kit includes the felt and you will just need the DMC threads red 221, greens 580 and 3012, ecru, brown 3863 and yellows 783 and 782.

This little decoration is made with English paper piecing so bring along your glue pen or tacking thread, some fine thread for sewing the pieces and some scraps of fabric.

Stitch this Christmas stitchery and make it into a cushion or hanging.  Your background fabric and parlay is provided and you will need your threads (DMC threads 221, 2777, 783, 782, 580, 3012 and 936 or your own favourites) and a little scrap of red fabric and fusible web.

No we aren't making beautiful orange teacups .... this is just to remind you to bring along your favourite tea cup or coffee mug ....  it will save lots of washing up time for the ladies in the kitchen .... thank you !    We will also be sharing all our show and tell so don't forget to bring along some of your finished projects to inspire us all!

We are looking forward to spending some fun filled days with you all .... stitching, eating, chatting and enjoying "Christmas in July" !!   See you there !!!
