Restful days

On the weekend we had a quick overnight trip to Sydney and managed to catch up with Jonah and his mum Andrea (while Elliott is away) .... here is Jonah having fun trying out Chelsea's walking machine .... he loved it !!

On the way back home we called in to the Two Figs Winery south of Gerringong .... it was a spectacular day on the south coast ....

My Tuesdays off to myself are very few and far between at the moment .... but today I managed a day for myself .... so after a long walk and some chores I had a quiet coffee and a stitch ..... I am enjoying stitching this design from Sue Hawkins in England .....

And I'm using one of my favourite pairs of scissors with one of my favourite scissor fobs .... it looks lovely dangling in amongst my Mothers Day flowers .....

And now I'm looking forward to a little more boisterous day off tomorrow with the little boys ......

Mother’s Day

Just catching up on last weekend now .... it was Mothers Day on Sunday, but on Saturday we had a lovely lunch at my sisters house with half of the family ..... Andrea, me, Wendy, Nadia and Krystal (my nephews girlfriend)

And our family .... David, Sam, me, Nadia, Andrea and Elliott with Jonah ....

Jonah loved the fact that it was my birthday on Sunday and he got to blow out the one candle on my cake !

Such a cute little monkey playing in the plastic container drawer ....

And on Sunday we ventured out for Mothers Day/my birthday with Ash, Tim and the boys who gave me the most beautiful bunch of flowers .....

We enjoyed a great lunch at Cupits Winery at Milton .... it was a bit chilly though so we were all rugged up !!

And Cupits made me a beautiful birthday cake too !!

An amazing chocolate cake with beautiful fresh flowers and strawberries !

Flowers .....

More flowers .....

Cape to Cape Walk Part 2

We stayed in little towns along the way .... this is the famous bakery at Margaret River with its amazing collection of plates and saucers outside ..... such a great idea !!

More remote cliff top walking ... this day was warm and sunny though !!

Spectacular walking along the cliff tops with magnificent ocean views ....

Gorgeous flora along the way ....

We loved all the famous surfing spots along the way too .....

The weather was fairly kind to us through the 7 day walk ....

Just beautiful .....

Except for the last day which was cloudy, windy, raining and freezing cold ... when you're a walker you expect all kinds of conditions but this was over the top .....

So we got a car to drive us the last 20km and we finally made it to Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse .....  a great walk .... a bit testing at times .... but we did enjoy a day off in the middle to tour through the Margaret River Wineries which was lovely .....

Cape to Cape Walk, WA

I have been missing in action for a couple of weeks .... my sister and her husband and David and I have been to Western Australia and walked the Cape to Cape Walk .... 140km from Cape Leeuwin to Cape Naturaliste .... spectacular coastline and quite rugged and remote in some parts ....  here we are at the beginning !!

Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse at the start of the walk .....

This is where the Southern Ocean meets the Indian Ocean .... for those overseas .... far south coast of Western Australia .... wild and rugged !!

Spectacular scenery walking along the coastline .... always keeping the ocean to our left as we headed north ....

There was some soft sand walking which is pretty hard but we got to rest every so often .... sometimes on one of the walking track signs !!

We found Daves Road in a forest walk one day .... just for David !!

The weather was varied and this day was particularly high winds and a bit of rain .... all rugged up against the cold !!

Looking north to our final destination .....
